We decided to put Look Me in the Eye on hold. The controversy swirling around the Golden Compass sparked our interest. We thought we would give it a look and come back to Look Me in the Eye a little later.
Finished "The Golden Compass" and frankly was unsure what had sparked the controversy. At points I even tried to force the issues into the story and was unable to do so. It is fiction and enjoyable and has a strong and spunky young girl as the heroine....if you see something else please explain. I haven't begun the sequel yet maybe the god killing part will loom ominously in it.
